Your Agents Finished the Work. That Isn’t the Verdict.

Your agents completed every task. That settles nothing about the money.

"Tasks completed" is an execution result. It tells you the machinery ran. It does not tell you the business gained anything worth the spend, and a green dashboard has a way of ending the conversation before that question gets asked.

There's a stronger test, and it has three parts that only work together.

What customers actually got. Not throughput, not hours notionally saved — value that showed up on their side of the transaction.

What it costs you to change the thing when it needs changing. Every worthwhile adaptation has a price. If that price is high, you haven't built an asset, you've built a commitment.

Whether anything you built has been reused. Not "reusable" — reused. Demonstrated, in a second place, by someone who didn't build it. Architecture described as modular is a claim. Reuse is evidence.

The reason to hold all three at once is that each one can be maximised alone, and the winner conceals the losers. A workflow that delights customers can be catastrophically expensive to adapt. Something cheap to change and reused everywhere can be delivering customers nothing. Pick your favourite number and you'll find it, every time.

This isn't a demand to score well on all three. It's a demand to see them side by side, because that's where the trade-off you actually made becomes visible — and where a completion report stops being allowed to stand in for an investment decision.

Finishing the work is the easy part to prove. Proving it was worth doing is the part most teams skip.
